If you're pricing a yacht charter in Dubai for the first time, the range can feel confusing. Some operators publish per-hour rates, others quote packages, and a surprising number won't show a number at all until you send a message. This guide lays out what Marinova actually charges in 2026, what that covers, what costs more, and what you should realistically budget for the day you have in mind.
All prices below are Marinova's starting points on the current fleet. Final quotes always depend on the yacht, the date, the group, and anything you'd like arranged on board.
The short answer
Yacht charter in Dubai starts at AED 600 per hour on a smaller yacht and runs up to around AED 2,500 per hour on the premium tier, with a three-hour minimum on almost every booking. Special-event evenings such as New Year's Eve and the Formula 1 weekend are priced as full packages rather than hourly, so the numbers there look different. VAT at 5% is added on the final invoice.
If you want the short version, those two paragraphs are most of what you need. The rest of this guide explains where the variation comes from so your final quote doesn't surprise you.
Hourly rates by yacht size
Marinova groups the fleet into three tiers so the pricing logic is easy to follow. Each yacht in a tier is equipped and crewed to the same standard. What changes is size, capacity, and the feel on board.
These are starting prices, not ceilings. Within each tier, specific yachts carry their own rates based on year, layout, and the number of guests they hold comfortably. A full breakdown of the fleet and per-yacht pricing sits on the Yacht Rental Prices page.
The three-hour minimum matters more than it first looks. Anything shorter rarely covers a meaningful coastal route once you factor in boarding, the ride out, photos, and the return. Most clients find three to four hours is the sweet spot for a relaxed afternoon, and six to eight hours is the right call when the day includes lunch, swim stops, or evening timing.
What the hourly rate includes
Every Marinova charter includes the same base package. Nothing here is ever billed as an add-on.
- A licensed captain and full deck crew
- Fuel for the standard coastal route
- Fresh water, soft drinks, and ice
- Fresh towels
- A premium onboard sound system
- Access to the swimming platform
The reason this matters is that some operators in Dubai quote the yacht alone, then add fuel surcharges, captain fees, or a crew tip line when the invoice arrives. Marinova quotes a single hourly number that already covers everything needed for the yacht to leave the pier and run a normal route. If a competitor's number looks cheaper, the line item that's usually missing is fuel.
What typically costs extra
Anything that's not essential to the yacht running is quoted separately so you only pay for what you actually want. The most common add-ons are:
- Catering. From canapé service through to private chef and plated dining. Priced per head based on the menu format.
- Decoration. Birthday setups, anniversaries, proposals, corporate branding. Priced per booking based on the scope.
- Water sports. Jet ski, paddleboards, donut rides, inflatable towables. Priced per activity.
- Entertainment. DJ booking, live musicians, photographers, videographers. Priced per service.
- Extended routes. Longer cruises beyond the standard coastal loop. Priced as additional yacht hours.
You don't pay for any of these unless you ask for them. A plain charter with soft drinks on board and a coastal cruise is a valid booking that plenty of our clients choose, especially for a relaxed afternoon on the water.
Special-event pricing
Some evenings in Dubai's calendar don't fit the standard hourly model. These are priced as full packages instead, because the yacht is held for a specific window at a specific position, and the operational costs behind that are very different from a normal booking.
New Year's Eve
NYE packages start at AED 25,000+ for the six-hour evening. The final number scales with yacht size, group, fireworks-viewing position, and on-board hospitality. The best yachts and the best positions are usually locked in by mid-October. Full details are on the New Year's Eve Yacht Rental page.
Formula 1 race weekend
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix runs on two entry bands. Non-track-view berths at Yas Marina start at AED 125,000+ for the four-day event. Track-view berths, with a direct sightline to the circuit and a circuit-pass allocation included, start at AED 185,000+. Both anchors reflect the smallest eligible yacht. More detail is on the Formula 1 Yacht Rental page.
If your booking lands on a public-holiday weekend, Eid, Diwali, or a major event date, expect the yacht to carry seasonal pricing rather than the standard hourly rate. We always tell you upfront which basis applies.

Seasonal pricing in Dubai
Dubai's charter season runs roughly from November through March, when the weather is calm, the evenings are comfortable, and guests want to be on the water. Weekends during that window are the busiest dates of the year, and some yachts carry seasonal pricing on those dates.
The summer months, from May through September, are quieter. Yacht availability is far more open and bookings can often be made on shorter notice. If your plans are flexible and you don't mind the heat at midday, a sunset cruise in summer usually costs less than the same booking in January.
For NYE, F1, and the main UAE public holidays, the earlier you book the more options you keep open. By the last few weeks before any of those dates, what's left is what's left.
VAT, deposits, and payment
All listed prices are exclusive of VAT. The UAE VAT rate of 5% is added on the final invoice, itemised clearly alongside the yacht time and any extras you've added. There are no hidden surcharges or fuel supplements after booking.
Standard practice is a deposit to hold the date, with the balance due on or before the day itself. The exact deposit percentage depends on lead time and the total value of the booking. Bank transfer and card are both accepted, and full payment terms are sent in writing before you confirm. For corporate clients, we issue a fully compliant VAT invoice in the company name with our TRN on the document.
What should you actually budget?
Rough benchmarks for the most common scenarios, based on current pricing:
A relaxed afternoon for 8 to 10 guests
Three to four hours on a small yacht, standard route, soft drinks on board. You're looking at around AED 2,000 to AED 3,000 before VAT, with catering or extras on top if you add them.
A birthday evening for 20 to 25 guests
Four hours on a mid-size yacht, with basic birthday decoration and a cake delivery. Before catering, the yacht and setup typically land in the AED 4,500 to AED 6,000 range before VAT. Add catering per head and any entertainment from there. The Birthday Yacht Parties page walks through the full format.
A full-day charter for a group of 40
Eight hours on a larger yacht, including swim stops and a coastal loop. Expect the yacht itself to sit between AED 12,000 and AED 20,000 before VAT, depending on exactly which boat. Catering, water sports, and entertainment are quoted separately.
A corporate event on the water
Pricing depends heavily on format. For a standing reception of around 50 guests with branded hospitality and a three to four-hour window, plan on a five-figure budget including catering and AV. The Corporate Yacht Events page covers the process in more depth.
These are starting points, not fixed quotes. The final number moves with yacht choice, season, and anything you'd like arranged. If you want to see what the tier structure looks like with real yachts attached, the Bianco 56 is our entry-level Small Yacht and a good reference point for the lower end of the range.
How to get an accurate quote
The fastest path to a real number is a short WhatsApp message with three things:
- Your preferred date and a rough window of time on the water
- Group size
- What you're planning, even loosely. Birthday, corporate, a casual afternoon, something else.
We come back with yacht options that fit, a clear quote, and the next step. No long forms, no phone tag, no pricing that only appears after you've given up three rounds of details. If you'd rather read the full pricing structure first, the Yacht Rental Prices page has every tier laid out. If you want to understand how a private charter actually works before booking, the Private Yacht Charter page covers the format end to end.
One last note on budgeting. The cheapest yacht in the fleet is rarely the right one for a real occasion. An extra AED 400 per hour to move from a small to a mid-size yacht usually buys you more space, more comfort, and a day that doesn't feel cramped. That tends to matter more, by the end of the afternoon, than the number on the invoice.
