That is what separates a private charter from a shared tour. On a shared yacht tour you buy seats on a set departure alongside other customers, at a per-person ticket price and on a fixed timetable. On a private charter you book the whole yacht for one group, at a price for the yacht rather than per head, with the start time and route agreed for your booking.

Ask for the exact yacht by name before you pay. Your written quote should identify the yacht being booked and set out the date, the start time and duration, the guest count, the departure marina and boarding point, what is included, any agreed extras, the total price, and the payment and cancellation terms. Tell us any privacy or photography requests when you enquire. Specific confidentiality arrangements need to be agreed before payment.

The day can be customised properly

Catering, decoration, a custom setup, a chef and water activities can be arranged on request and are quoted separately, rather than sold as a fixed package. Routes depend on the yacht, the duration, the operating conditions and the permissions that apply on the day. Transfers and preparation use charter time, so a short booking cannot promise every activity or landmark. Decorations, custom setups and catering should be requested when you book where possible, and at least 3 days before the charter, and they are not guaranteed.

A private charter reserves the selected yacht for your group and the crew for the booked time. Your route and activities are agreed around the yacht, duration and conditions on the day.

Children are welcome. Share their ages when you enquire so suitable life jackets and the trip arrangements can be confirmed. Children count towards the yacht's maximum guest capacity.

The minimum depends on the yacht, the date and the start time, and it is confirmed for your booking before payment. On White Pearl 55, for example, the minimum is normally 2 hours, and 3 hours for a Friday or Saturday sunset booking. Half-day, full-day, sunset and overnight charters are arranged on request.
Most charters depart from Dubai Harbour or Dubai Marina, depending on the selected yacht. The exact berth and parking pin are confirmed before boarding.
For most dates, 7 to 10 days’ notice is comfortable. For weekends, public holidays, and the November to March high season, 2 to 4 weeks ahead is safer. NYE, F1 weekend, and major event dates need to be locked in earlier.
